no more lions and gazelles

As recommended.

I'm not too sure about the reasons, but there are 2 possible reasons:

1) The book's progress/prospected development would require me greatly in that period since picture compilation etc are under my jurisdiction.

2) The Woman decided that i need to learn to be nicer and more slavish towards her and so gathered her "friends"/"sisters" to recommend to boss to recommend i don't go. (quite possibly citing my ineptitude as exemplified by my improper attire at a previously mentioned event - suspicion of this raised by janny's brief notation and tone today)

In case 1, i understand completely that i am required and obviously am more than willing to work for Good Boss. After all respect earns you more than good manners, it earns you devotion.

In case 2, i say fuck her. I'd been more than nice, more than polite as compared to a normal working relationship. After that 20min speech, this is more than just a warning or punishment, this is a shout to me that she wants ingratiating from me, that she demands the slavish, worshiping behaviour she receives at times.

I could simply start a campaign of fuck-her now. I could go MO or appointments for the variety of pains and reasons that i can legitimately report, at all the times she requires me, and disappear to do Good Boss' work when I'm back. I could simply "draw the line" that the office has obviously lost, due to ridiculously widened job-scopes (on the pretense of "helping each other out").

But i won't. Because i don't know the reason, i cant be sure and i sure as hell ain't gonna be like her and assume. I will wait it out, and get my answer, and make my choice.

I can carry groups, organisations, ideals, beliefs, teams. But i don't ever carry persons.

debate

CPT Lim gave me a lift all the way to bishan today, which was damn good not just for the convenience, cheapness and time saved but also for conversation.

Talking cock and nonsense is perfectly fine with me, i love it in fact. Its an excellent way to destress and distract yourself from the important things. Since graduation there has been no lack of this, which is all good and fun, but ultimately dulls my brain.

So the car ride was great since i managed to have my first proper intellectual exchange in months. It was an exchange of views, a discussion of opinions and circumstances, reasons and consequences. I loved the feel of logic working, of ideas having to be formed as quick as words and words being spoken as quick as ideas. It thrilled me, this conversation, this debate.

A slightly weird happy ending to a shitty day. Excellent.

today was a very bad day.

and i cant even bitch about it. since it pertains to stars and crests. (though its mainly my fault, of course) MMLL, Mistake Made, Lesson Learnt. Hopefully Amanda understands at least that much..

Though as a note thanks to Malcolm and Ivan for backing me up. Its times like this that i feel like the kiddy newbie i am, relying on them as pillars of support.

On a happier note, today i met someone who is possibly the most interesting taxi driver i've ever talked to. The Haj, 11 times! amongst other things. Of course I'm taking his word for everything, as we all should. After all, trust is one of the great gifts we were born with, to give and not to keep.

Botany

On 27 Mar 08, two personnel from MINDEF took a D70S and a D100 to the Singapore Botanical Gardens to take pictures of its landscape during a two-day crash course on photography with the DSLR. The aim of the course is to instill in the two participants the basics of using DSLRs in terms of aperture, shutterspeed, ISO and lighting control, as well as composition of picture.

Overall, participants were deeply satisfied with the course, and were able to obtain skills that would aid them in their future assignments. Quipped Daniel Soh, ASA AFIMC, AMD, "The course enabled me to learn more about using the camera to manipulate shots to the effect of capturing the meaning of events and situations."

Nice looking tree with an old man doing taichi in the background, proper exposure, though the old man noticed the photographer and decided to stop showing
off.

This picture was overexposed on purpose for the glowy feel of the plant to appear.

The photographer took picture of this because green is a colour that is good for your eyesight.

And of course, the photographer could not resist a high shutterspeed shot to capture droplets of water, just for the kick of it.

Haha and this is the style i have to write with in my job.
