even sinners need to dream

Haven't posted in a very long time, i guess it was partly cause i've been hooked onto ge, and also partly cause im just too sian to touch the blog, or to bloghop.

General Paper prelims ended on monday, getting a fix of coffee and red bull i proceeded to talk cock to park at the softball morning table. Sadly, we didn't realise that although the canteen seemed full, the people around us were all year ones and thus, we were late. Not to mention i didn't go to the toilet before rushing into the hall, and i completely forgot about bringing my jacket, so i had to waste time (looking for an open door, realising theres none and opening one myself, before) going out of the hall. Luckily the caffeine fix kept me awake for the whole paper for the first time in my essay/compre-writing life, so it kinda balances out.

Oh, and a overdose of caffeine causes a twitchy cheek and other symptoms that make you think you're having a stroke, so careful with the caffeine.

Maybe i'll just talk about music

Not sure what else to blog about, the titles just a line from Black Sabbath's The Devil Cried, which is actually qutie a cool song, and not just cause the word "Devil" is in there. Though it would be interesting if lying to the devil to make him tear would help you escape hell, i would've thought if you touched the Devil till he weeped, he'd be more eager to keep you. Or maybe Satan just needs to keep his macho reputation or he'll get taunted by beezlebub or whoever for being a wuss.

I just thought about it and Dream Theatre's Ministry of Lost Souls is really a very (long and) sad song, at least the way i intepreted it:

The water´s edge,
Is where she waits.
Lost soul still wondering.
Meant to die,
But she´s stuck
Not crossing over.

The other side,
Is where he waits.
His spirit reaching out.
Meant to save,
But she´s too scared
To take his hand.

-insert chorus here-

Feeling scared,
She´s prepared,
To give up everything.
She can´t stand,
To feel like half of her is fading.

He will choose,
The only way,
To rid her of her pain.
Take her soul now,
The decision has been made.

Just seems to me like the guy in heaven decided that to save her he'd switch places with her so she could go to paradise while he, in her place, wandered the empty plains of a earth without living souls (think silent hill) Sounds like a huge sacrifice to make, to live for eternity in utter loneliness, but thats the power of love i guess.

And now about Park's new fave-omg-wah-why-never-hear-of-it-earlier-knn-ccb-i-like song! Hear n Aid's We are Stars, sung by the likes of Dio, Halford, Dokken etc! The youtube link is here: http://youtube.com/watch?v=qZktrrqT1A0, youtube/blogger still doesnt let me copy embeds, so this is the best i can do for y'all. The lyrics actually pronouce the start of the campaign i guess (though i wouldn't know, i wasn't even born when this song was first played):

Eric Bloom (Blue Oyster Cult):
We can be strong
We are fire and stone

Paul Shortino (Quiet Riot, Rough Cutt):
And we all want to touch a rainbow

Geoff Tate (Queensryche):
But singers and songs
Will never change it alone

We are calling you, calling you

Don Dokken (Dokken):
We're the beating of a heart
The beginning we're the start

Paul Shortino:
Forever we will shine

I find that red-ed part quite true, like in Live Earth and the countless other environmental, humanitarian, whatever movements, the singers and stars are of no use if the people do not respond. We need to make the difference, a star may have millions of dollars, but he is but one. The little things that people do starts the revolution, not some massive donation, or some massive roadshow. We are billions and with us doing our part, we are the ones who can make the difference for our world, we are the ones who could do anything.

So go donate some money, volunteer somewhere, pick up litter, smoke less, drive less, whatever. If you think you're doing something humanitarian, good for you, if you aren't, its never too late to start right?
